Heritage Page about someone important...

Okay, here's another challenge to hopefully inspire you. Don't feel like you have to do these challenges, I don't want them to be a chore (in fact if your tired of this, tell me to go stuff it!) ;)

This week, do a layout (or just one page) about one person (i.e. your best friend, your dog, your sister, yourself, etc.) focussing on telling something about that person. I'm kind of thinking of a heritage type page so that a couple of generations from now the person reading the book learns something about the person from your page, rather than a page about an event or activity. Make sense?

The last two challenges are kind of vague, I know... feel free to send it better ones! :)

Just Do a Layout!

Yay! Both babies had overlapping naps today so Alex and I had some time to do art... he painted and I scrapbooked a page in my new, not blue, baby book! So I figured I'd try again to breathe some life into our group again. Alison's Challenge for April was to "just do a layout". She issued it several weeks ago but I never passed on the message. Today I did a layout for the first time in months (February's challenge of hearts)! It's very, very simple but it's going to get me going again. I also started my March layout but Kirstin woke up so it'll have to wait. So... everyone "just do a layout", that's your challenge for this week. I'll send a photo of the pages I did later when both of my hands are free. I've kept the website up to date so far but it's looking pretty sad for this year! ;) http://bcandabcroppers.blogspot.com/.

Anyone who needs a little more of a push... here's a couple of suggestions from "Becky's Sketches":

March/April Challenge:

Anita has suggested an Easter theme for our March challenge. I've had my thinking cap on with a head cold under it. The only thing specific that I can come up with (so far) is to include a decorated Easter egg that is made from your scraps. I know that I always grab a 12 by 12 sheet of paper and my scrap box remains untouched.

Love, Carrie

February Challenge

I'm thinking hearts! Let's all do pages that are inspired by Valentine's Day. Some of you (those with, ahem, 3 daughters...) might find this challenge a snap... others of us a bit of a stretch, but I'm in the mood to do something pink or red so I'm issuing a mushy, gushy Valentine's challenge. Have fun!

January Challenge...

Courtesy of Laura's Cricut Machine...

Okay, enough delay! We all had lovely, busy Decembers and now we should get back on track! At least, I need to! So I'm sending out a reminder that we should restart our challenges. My goal for January was to finish Connor's baby book... well now it's nearing the end of January and I'm thinking that I should maybe finish it in February! At least... before I have to start a third baby book anyway!

So... the first challenge of 2008 is to dig out that envelope that you received in the mail. Mom and I cut some die cuts for you and your challenge is to use them to complete a layout. Sounds simple enough! I'm going to use mine to scrapbook Connor's First Christmas. I've been putting off this email because I haven't taken a picture to show you how to assemble the die cuts, because I haven't assembled mine yet... but if we wait until I do that, I'll be cropping Connor's first Christmas in February. They're fairly straight forward, anyway, but if you need some hints, I'll try and glue mine together tonight and send you a photo tomorrow.

Let's start out slowly because Marion's out of town and Alison just moved into her new place and hasn't unpacked her scrapbook stuff... so let's make this one our "January challenge" and then in February get back onto the weekly bandwagon!

Any one with me?

Laura
