NOVEMBER CHALLENGES

I thought we would try something a little bit different for the next couple of challenges.  Study the mood board below.  We've not done this before so I have included an example of one person's inspiration from this board.  There are no steadfast rules.  Just let the pictures or colours inspire you.

Challenge #2 Mood Board:

Anita:  You can't see my "dusting" of powdered sugar on this background paper in this picture.   Maybe if enlarged you could tell that I spatter painted blue and white on the blue background before I layered the pictures and tag.

2013 Retreat

Absolutely rejuvenating!  I so enjoyed our four day retreat in the Kootenays!  The view of the lake and mountains was fabulous despite the rain.  The only problem with our "better late than never" 2013 Scrapbook Retreat was that two of our members weren't there.  Laura and Alison - we thought of you often and sure hope that we can swing a 2014 retreat in early spring... and that we will all be able to attend.

Kokanee Glacier Resort was the perfect venue with the use of the breakfast room that is only used by the owners in July and August.  Shaun and Laurie were so gracious in allowing us free reign to move all of their tables, chairs and decorations around so we could set up rows of tables to work on and stations for a water colour demonstration, an embossing demonstration, a stamping/inking station and another for the Cricut and Cuttlebug.

Sorry - I haven't been able to figure out how to reset the Ticker counter at the top of our blog so that we have a running calendar of this last retreat.  I will have to beg our savvy techie (Laura) for assistance!

Carrie had a fun tea party for us complete with treasured tea pots and tea cups from Carrie and Marlene's collections; delicious flavours of various teas and mini cheesecakes!   We wore hats and fascinators and had plenty of photo ops!

Marlene gave us a water colour lesson which was a lot of fun:

Kokanee Glacier Resort wants to advertise their breakfast room for groups such as ours to rent out so took our group picture and a photo of our very cluttered room to put on their web site.
